Following the dismisals at Glan Conwy Llanrwst found themselves having to re-shuffle the starting line up for the Welsh Trophy game against Montgomery Town who promised to provide a stern test having only suffered one defeat in the last 40games. In came veteran Goalkeeper Stephen (Carney) Roberts with Gwyn Jones and Rhys Davies also added to the starting eleven.
Llanrwst started the brightest with both Bryn Jenkins and Lee Allen testing the goalkeeper early on, Llanrwst then took the lead through Bryn Jenkins after a lovely one two with Jamie Turner.
Montgomery were then given a route back into the game when Barry Owen gave away a penalty which the visitors duly converted, they then took the lead with a far post header when their right winger had plenty of time to deliver a cross.
1-2 HT
Llanrwst started the second half brightly and drew level when a Jamie Turner lay off found Lee Allen who finished from 18yds

Llanrwst then suffered a further set back when Jamie Turner was given a straight red card following a tackle
There seemed no way back at this stage with with ten minutes remaining, Llanrwst trailing 4-2 and down to 10men, but credit must go to the all the players who showed a never say die attitude to claw a goal back with a far post header from Bryn Jenkins following a Barry Owen cross.

4-4FT
The game then entered extra time and Llanrwst took the lead for the 3rd time in the match when a ball into the area was only half cleared and Gwion Schiavonne drove the ball home and into the corner. Llanrwst then managed so score a 6th goal when Luke Roberts ran onto a Barry Owen through ball to finish and make the score 6-4
Montgomery then managed to claw back what was to be no more than a consolation when they scored their 5th goal
